FROCKS & FILLIES AT THE 2016 SYDNEY SPRING CARNIVAL LAUNCH

The Australian Turf Club welcomed the new season by launching the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival with a stunning floral event at Royal Randwick.

The 2016 Spring Carnival is set to be bigger than ever, running from 10 September to 1 November with a roster of 23 exciting races and nearly $12million total prize money. That includes the premier race to be held during the program: the Group1 $1m Epsom is sure to be a thriller. The newly sponsored De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Day is another standout fixture, geared to show off the amazing $28 million transformation of Rosehill Gardens.

In attendance to celebrate were racing royalty including trainers Gai Waterhouse, Chris Waller, jockeys Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry, alongside a guest list of racing figures and natinal personalities. New Carnival ambassadors TV presenter Mel McLaughlin; the 'Bearded Bakers' Ameer and Joey El-Issa; models Goergia Fowler and Megan Blake Irwin; and Miss Chinese Cosmos Jessica Song were dressed to the nines for the occasion.
